Oakland Soul Settle for Point in Opener at Stockton
In the first half, Oakland Soul dominated against Stockton Cargo, creating more chances and earning the majority of corner kicks. However, they were unable to find the back of the net as the sides headed into the break level at 0-0.
The best chance of the second half fell to Samantha Tran, whose one-on-one opportunity struck the keeper’s post in the 65th minute, keeping the game scoreless late into the second half.
In the 77th minute, it was Oakland Soul with the chance as Miranda Nild found herself at the back post. Her first effort was saved, and the follow-up effort went just wide.
Despite the Soul’s pressure and the better of the chances in the game, Oakland left Stockton with just a point as the score ended 0-0.
Oakland Soul now return to Merritt College next weekend for the Home Opener on Sunday, May 12th as they take on the Olympic Club.
