CODE OF CONDUCT PROHIBITED ITEMS SUPPORTER GROUPS SMOKING, ALCOHOL, SCALPING VIOLATIONS & CONSEQUENCES
CODE OF CONDUCT
Oakland Roots SC, Oakland Soul SC, and Project 51O are committed to providing a fan experience that is enjoyable and respectful of our diverse audience. Our staff will proactively intervene when inappropriate or offensive behavior affects the experience or safety of our fans.
(The following is prohibited:)
- Abusive language, images or obscene gestures including derogatory comments relating to race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, disability or appearance
- Fighting, taunting or threatening remarks or gestures
- Disruption of the match by a guest’s actions
- Guests seated in a location other than their ticketed seat
- Throwing objects of any kind
- Unauthorized entrance on the playing field or restricted areas
- Intoxication or other signs of impairment
- Obscene or indecent clothing or signs
- Use of smoke, flare, or fire devices
- Attempting to enter the facility with an item on the Prohibited Items List or possession within the facility of an item on the Prohibited Items List
Individuals and groups found in violation of this Code of Conduct face ejection from the event and may be subject to additional penalties, including bans from future stadium events.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
Oakland Roots SC, Oakland Soul SC, and Project 51O are committed to providing a safe environment. The following items are prohibited from all game day venues, events, facilities, and offices:

- Animals (except registered service animals)
- Coolers
- Glass containers and bottles
- Outside food (except baby food), beverages (except one manufacturer sealed bottle of water per person), and alcohol
- Inflated soccer balls
- Weapons, including explosives, knives, and guns
- Pepper spray, mace, aerosol spray, and tear gas
- No flares, fireworks, smoke devices, sparklers, or similar items
- Laser pointers
- Lawn furniture
- Scooters, roller blades, hoverboards, and skateboards
- Drugs/illegal substances
- Flammable liquids
- Sticks, poles, and flag poles (except as pre-approved in designated locations for supporters groups in compliance with the rules below)
- Banners, tifos, streamers, signs, and flags (except as pre-approved in designated locations for supporters groups in compliance with the rules below)
- Tripods, monopods, or cameras with large lenses (over 3”)( except for credentialed members of the media)
- Drones (UAVs) of any kind
- Noisemakers including plastic horns/vuvuzelas, air horns, or whistles
- Items that could be used as a projectile
- Small umbrellas are allowed on the grounds but may not be opened in seating sections
- Strollers are allowed inside the stadium but not inside the seating area. These can be checked into guest services
- Any other items deemed dangerous or inappropriate, in the sole discretion of Oakland Roots, Oakland Soul, Project 51O and stadium management
Guests found in possession of a prohibited item may be removed from the premises and may be subject to additional penalties. Prohibited items found on the premises will be removed and disposed of without compensation. No items may be left at the gate or guest services, except strollers. All persons and items that enter Laney College Field are subject to search. Guests who refuse to comply may be denied entry.
SUPPORTER GROUPS EXPECTATIONS TO THE PROHIBITED ITEMS LIST
Items that are not pre-approved will not be allowed in the stadium. All other items may be removed from the stadium at the sole discretion of the Oakland Roots, Soul, Project 51O and stadium management.
Recognized Oakland Roots SC, Oakland Soul SC, and Project 51O supporters groups are permitted to bring certain items into the stadium. All items must be:
- REGISTERED and PRE-APPROVED by club management;
- Compliant with the Code of Conduct and not commercial in nature or offensive on the basis of race, gender, sex, economic or disability;
- Approved through the stadium security checkpoint; and
- Do not obstruct the view of any guests, cover stadium signage, cause damage to the stadium, or present any safety or fire hazards.
Subject to these requirements and the Code of Conduct, supporters groups are permitted to enter the stadium with and possess in the dedicated supporters’ group section, the following items:
- Pre-game tifos
- Flags on PVC poles
- Banners and signs that fit within the supporter group section and are not made of wood, metal, or any other hard material
- Fog and bubble machines
- Drums and other instruments
VISITING SUPPORTER GROUPS
Items that are not pre-approved will not be allowed in the stadium. All other items may be removed from the stadium at the sole discretion of the Oakland Roots, Soul, Project 51O and stadium management.
Visiting supporters groups are permitted to bring certain otherwise prohibited items into the stadium. All items must be:
- REGISTERED and PRE-APPROVED by club management;
- Compliant with the Code of Conduct and not commercial in nature or offensive on the basis of race, gender, sex, economic or disability;
- Approved through the stadium security checkpoint; and
- Do not obstruct the view of any guests, cover stadium signage, cause damage to the stadium, or present any safety or fire hazards.

Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in Laney College Field. This also includes e-cigarettes and vaporizers. Smoking may be permitted in designated areas in accordance with California State Law.
Alcohol
Guests are expected to obey all state and local laws governing the purchase, possession, and consumption of alcohol. It is illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to consume alcoholic beverages.
Public concession stands will not serve alcoholic beverages after the 80-minute mark of a soccer match, or the equivalent for other events.
The consumption of alcohol in any parking lot, outside of the Laney College Field, is prohibited.
Ticket Scalping
Ticket scalping is prohibited on the grounds of Laney College Field in accordance with California state law.
Violations and Consequences
Any fan who violates any of these provisions may be subject to penalty, including, but not limited to, ejection without refund, loss of ticket privileges for future games, and revocation of season tickets.
Serious violations or multiple violations may result in suspensions from attending future matches for up to a year or longer.
Any person in possession of a smoke device at a match or facility or any person who sets off a smoke device at a match or facility will receive an automatic 17 game suspension. Subsequent violations will result in escalating penalties.
If a smoke device is ignited at an Oakland Roots/Oakland Soul/Project 51O match or facility, all banners, signs, flags, instruments, and other items will be prohibited from the stadium and the supporters section at the next Oakland Roots/Oakland Soul/Project 51O match. Subsequent violations will result in escalating penalties.
